Game Prototyping
I’ve been working on a tool for the last few years and finally reached a point where it’s stable enough to share.
EIDOS is an AI-powered IDE designed to generate and edit gameplay code directly inside the environment. The goal is to make game prototyping much faster for solo developers and small teams.
Instead of switching between an editor, a chatbot window, a debugger, and file managers, I wanted everything integrated in one place. EIDOS lets you:
• generate playable gameplay logic from a text description • iteratively modify or expand scripts with AI inside the code editor • open .py, .txt, and even .mp4 files with different built-in editors • use “AI Generate / AI Modify” buttons directly in each editor • fix early-stage errors automatically • quickly test small mechanics and prototypes
My motivation was pretty simple: most of my prototyping time was spent on the same boilerplate setup—folders, scripts, basic logic, small bug fixes. I wanted an environment where AI could help with the repetitive parts without removing manual control.
A short example (brick-breaker code generation): (GIF link or embed)
Right now EIDOS supports Korean / English / Japanese / Chinese and uses a BYOK model. It runs locally and integrates with whatever LLM endpoint you provide.
I’d really appreciate any feedback — whether the workflow makes sense, if the integration feels useful, or what features would matter most for prototyping tools like this.
