My takeaway is different from the author: that the generative TTS is being panned in Arc Raiders mostly because it is badly done, not because of any fundamental objection to generative AI by gamers. That gamers will accept synthetic voices has already been long established by the global popularity of Vocaloid's Hatsune Miku and her compatriots. A future game that uses generative TTS but done well would probably meet no objections.
