Here we go again.

Can someone explain to me what digital euro is? Is it a different currency? Is not, are the euros on my bank's computers also digital euros?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_bank_digital_currency

> central bank digital currency (CBDC) is a digital version of a country's official currency, created by the nation's central bank

It seems impossible to find a clear explanation.

From what I understand to allow pay like card without bank as intermediate.

Digital in sense that it it's not physical bank note, but app or something similar.

Here are longer explanation what they want to achieve.
