I love where I'm at and what I do, but I intend to move to France in 2028 and that's an impossibility with my current employer, so I'm exploring other opportunities.I'm spending a lot of time outside of work tuning up my math skills to get a PhD in Complexity Science, CS, or pure math, and I'd love to get into HPC or MLOps/AI/ML research.

My preferred coding style is high-rigour and highly-documented, which tends to be a great fit for contract work. I have a track record of delivering quality results under minimal supervision. My specialist skills:
- The Rust language, which has been my daily driver for more than a decade.
- Multimedia (2D rendering, vector graphics, video, audio, libav, Web Codecs...)
- Performance optimisation (parallel programming, SIMD, GPU acceleration, soft-realtime programming...)
Fields in which I'm highly experienced, but below specialist level:
- Web development, with a frontend bias (TypeScript, React, JS build systems, the Web platform, WebGL, WebGPU, Node, WebAssembly...)
- Native development (native build systems, FFIs, low-level Win32, basic fluency in C/C++...)
- Leadership, communication and technical writing, all learned in a previous career.
I should also mention a modest level of experience in computer vision, greenfield R&D, game engine development, programming language development, and data compression. I'm comfortable with ubiquitous tools like Bash, Make, Git, GitHub, Docker and Figma. (Sorry for the keyword spam; you know how it is.)
I'm currently offering a 50% discount for any contract which seems highly educational. My areas of interest include acoustics, DSP, embedded programming, Svelte, Solid, functional languages, Swift, and backend development in general.
I can be flexible on time zones. No interest in relocating long-term, but I'd be happy to visit your team in person for a few days to break the ice.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you :-)

I'm primarily a startup contractor but open to a FTE founding engineer position with the right early stage startup. I'm flexible on salary but equity only is not an option. Open to Fractional CTO with the right pitch.
25+ years of experience in software development and been with the web since the early days.
15+ years in the startup space and nearly a decade building for non-profits before that. I can bring a breadth of experience that few can.
My preferred stack is Golang, HTML+CSS+JS and Sqlite but I have years of experience with Nodejs, React, Typescript, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, etc. Years ago I used PHP for over a decade then moved on and way back when I started out with Perl, Apache and Oracle.
Being an early-stage "one man army" contractor, I have a working understanding of ux/ui design, sysadmin and data science so I can fill those gaps when needed.

My focus has been on browser automation and building browser agents since 2018, with 13 years of enterprise experience building dynamic data user interfaces for web and mobile. I have experience working at both medium 130 person AI companies and small, fast-moving 7 person teams wearing many different hats, which I prefer. I have been instrumental in taking multiple companies from 0 to 1, both as a consultant and as a full-time employee in media, real estate, marketing, streaming services, education, and fintech.
Currently, I have a few side projects building Chrome extensions using VSCode’s core libraries. First is a fully automated algorithmic trading platform that uses a Chrome extension to control Robinhood and several information streams doing real time market intelligence using AI. I describe myself as a competent generalist, and a lifelong learner. I'm frequently working on something I've never done before. I've worked at every level of the stack, from cycle-shaving hot loops that saturate instruction pipelines to the frontend of large web applications. My most recent professional experience has been about a year at a semiconductor startup; I wrote prototypes for an ISA, compiler, a cycle simulator and visual debugger.
In terms of hard technical skills, I can quickly become productive in nearly any language, and at any level of the stack. I'm comfortable working in heavily multithreaded/async soft-realtime environments where performance is a key acceptance criteria. I have a good understanding of modern hardware architectures, including GPUs, from main memory to registers and instruction pipelines. I have working knowledge of interpreters and dynamic language runtimes and garbage collectors. I'm convinced I can learn nearly anything (albeit some things more quickly than others), given an appropriate problem domain to apply it to.
In terms of business value, I can take hand-wavy visions of new products and turn them into working prototype(s), quickly. I'm comfortable refining those raw materials and delivering real value to customers, internal or external. I have a track record of successfully identifying 80/20 solutions and love the feeling of making tools that make peoples lives better.
In my personal life, I enjoy travelling, surfing, climbing, backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, pirates, and attending raves. I like the phrase "have strong opinions, weakly held".
If I was born to do one thing in this world, it's program computers.
Jesse

I have several years experience as a data analyst, mostly in the video games industry and, more recently, in public service. A large part of this has been data engineering work which I've always found I tend to enjoy more than the analysis side. I've also always maintained a personal interest in programming working on side projects, and so, I am looking to transition into a development/data engineering role.
Lately, I have been spending my time in the embedded space working on retro game console accessories which has been very rewarding. I would love carry some of this experience into a professional role.

Full stack web dev here with a bias towards the backend. On my own time I prefer to use python for web work and GDScript/Godot for game dev, but I'm a big proponent of using the right tools for the job. I'm good at turning domain knowledge into software and quickly getting up to speed on preexisting code bases. Ideally looking for a role doing something socially conscious.

I used Electron, Node, Typescript, React, and Redux to build it, AWS for CI/deployments, and finally TrackJS and Sentry for logging/monitoring. I also started learning Rust from working with other engineers on the native node modules.

SEEKING FREELANCE WORK | UX/UI & web design
I help startups with the UX/UI and web design of their products. This includes web apps, websites, landing pages, copywriting, and I can assist with frontend development where needed. My background of launching my own products and being a full stack developer helps me create practical designs that balance usability, aesthetics, development effort, and performance. I work to fixed price quotes for self-contained projects.
---
The best live example of my work is Checkbot (https://checkbot.io/), a browser extension that tests websites for SEO/speed/security problems. The entire project is my own work including coding the extension itself, UX/UI design, website design (the homepage is optimised to load in 0.7 seconds, 0.3MB data transferred), marketing, website copy, and website articles on web best practices.

About: Making software for 36+ years.. Seen quite some things.. and attitudes. Always hands-on.
Looking for.. interesting work with interesting people. Maybe, principal or staff engineer, architect, CTO, co-founder, team/tech lead, head of engineering.. or very senior programmer.. (or Mentor? is this still needed? or playing Trainer). i like fiddling with things, mentoring people, and building stuff - out of nothing if needed :) Effecting change, esp. cultural. Life-coaching too.. And making good friends along. But no office politics, plz.
IMO The interesting part of making software, is the people, while technicals.. are solvable. And, Fun is important 4th factor in the Functionality-Price-Deadlines Triangle.
May relocate anywhere to stay with the team, once in a while, as IMO "remote" does not work well for knowledge/ culture/ relations -building activities.

I'm a PM with a proven track record shipping AI products that make money. At Anomali, I launched their Copilot generative AI suite from zero to millions in ARR. I handled everything from product-market fit to pricing and packaging. Before that, I built Splunk's first cloud-native SaaS app called Mission Control, coordinating 40+ engineers across 30+ teams to unify SIEM, SOAR, and investigation workflows into one platform. We gained over 1000 DAUs and 350+ customers in six months.I'm technical enough to be dangerous with a CS degree, partial MS in Cybersecurity from Georgia Tech, and I build things for fun (my side projects have hit the HN front page). But my real value is bridging deep technical understanding with business strategy in fast-moving security/AI markets.
Looking for companies at an inflection point where I can build or significantly scale a product function. Ideally somewhere at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity.

Hi. I’m an MIT-educated software generalist leaning DevOps/infra, w/ about 10 years in software industry… up til early 2021. Then I had a nice, long, self-financed (via previous startup RSU-sell-off) sabbatical, but now need rather urgently to return to working for a living.[Unfortunately for this time and place,] I am pretty unenthusiastic about both AI/ML and “AI”, but I am interested in dev tools, IoT stuff, hardware-software systems broadly, education, green energy, A/V production & distro, new-wave social/indieweb, civic tech, … and probably amenable to a lot more missions I haven’t especially considered.
I'm comfortable jumping up and down levels of abstraction and I like making things work together well. I'll call myself "full-stack" but in truth I tend to be most interested in all "edges" (HCI, API, hw/sw).
I have never been very good at job-acquisition (and it's only gotten worse), but I am pretty sure I could add a lot of value a lot of places if given the chance.

I am a seasoned (>15 years experience) full-stack staff-level software engineer specializing in the backend, systems architecture, AI, platform engineering, internal tools, prototyping, and data engineering. In addition to strong programming and architectural skills, I'm a force multiplier for any team in either role through the three T's -- teaching, talking, and tooling. I also hold a US patent in the AI space.
In the past, I've taught a number of scientists and students to code in python; I've led and managed a number of high-impact engineering teams of up to 12; and pioneered a number of no- and low-code solutions for stream processing, data model and query generation, form building, workflow systems, and front-end construction for a variety of industries, including those with strong regulatory requirements and complex business rules such as healthcare and fintech. >10% of all medicare applications and millions of individuals currently flow through pioneering no-code systems I conceived and built and have ran in production for over a decade.
More recently, I've built a no-code automated form-filler; a no-code web scraper (and an AI for generating such scrapers from a spec and 1-3 example urls from a page); and a workflow engine for coordinating LLMs and other generative AI processes, and on top of this a platform for both minimizing hallucinations and working with documents that are far too large for existing context window inputs or outputs using a novel, patented process that I invented; and applied these tools to various contracted projects requiring analysis and and cross-checking of information and other forms of integrity across textual and video/audio corpus data in a variety of domains (fiction and non-fiction).
I am also an improvisational pianist, published poet, and I've created novel algorithms and tools for studying and composing both music and poetry, which I have given a talk on at a recent functional programming conference.
I have extensive experience working for and running startups, software consulting shops, with some mid-sized company engineering experience as well; these give me a unique insight into speaking with customers and internal stake-holders, translating between engineering and other departments, gathering requirements, aligning stake-holders across departments on a vision and attainable timeline, and architecting/building/taking ownership over significant internal and customer-facing areas of responsibility.
If any of the above seems like a match for you and your organization or project, don't hesitate to reach out. I am available for both full-time positions and short- and long-term contracts.

Over 15 years I've worked both in large corporations in cross-functional teams, small teams (5-10) at small to medium companies, and alone as a freelancer taking on projects across many different technologies. My focus in the past few years has been on being a force multiplier for my team and increasing predictability, stability, and developer enjoyment of output. I'm also a big proponent of mentoring and frequently create tech talks from the daily work notes I take so that the lessons from any challenges I face benefit not only me, but my team as well.
My preference is functional languages and companies that use Nix and/or NixOS, but it's more important to have a healthy company and team than any specific technology.
I also do Parkour in my free time, and I have given lessons to coworkers in the past who are interested :)

Hi, I'm Jonathan. I’m currently doing DevOps work for an open source project and operate a small web hosting company. My skillset is focused on the DevOps side, with a bit of general dev experience primarily with Python. I have a PhD in Physic, my research focus was computational biophysics. On the side I also host my own infrastructure as a hobby, from the hardware to the nameservers and everything in between.
I'm a strong communicator, having collaborated across disciplines and presented work for both technical and non-technical audiences. Having worked at startups before, I’m comfortable wearing many hats (and enjoy the variety). I'm self-motivated and love to dig into new complex problems and learn new tools.
If you're looking for someone who can wear multiple hats and contribute to various aspects of your product, I'd love to chat!

Hi, I'm Michael Geary. I've programmed in many languages and environments over the years. Some of my current interests are:
• Aviation and geographic data. For example, airspace and obstacle data importers for Wing; election results and voter information maps for Google; many interactive maps for other companies.
• Hardware interfacing. In a way, I am a "full stack" developer, but my stack may involve a front end to a piece of hardware rather than the cloud. I first got into programming via ham radio, so RF hardware remains an interest.
• Designing and building APIs. Too often an API is designed by exposing the internals of whatever system provides the API. My philosophy is the opposite: start with the apps. I like to build a series of sample apps before starting on the API. This way I can imagine what API will make those apps and others like them easy to build.
• Talk with users! I don't like to sit in a back room cranking out code. I want to make sure it's the right code for what my users need, and that it's easy to maintain and improve as we learn more about what they want.
Open to full time or contract.
I look forward to talking with you!

I'm not actively looking (hence why my resume link is obfuscated like that) but I'm at least interested in getting a feel for the market right now. That said, I'm willing to consider a position with a great fit for my skill set and career goals.
Here's my pitch: I have experience in a multitude of industries and positions. From improving legacy infra and processes in an established telco company to scaling a fast-moving startup from 200K to 2M users. In my free time, I love writing Code That Is Poetry but day-to-day I am not an idealist engineer who doesn't compromise. Well-engineered code is clean and correct but correct above all else.
Oh, also, I'm great at writing documentation. I consider myself introverted but apparently my communication skills are above average for Software Engineers. I also pride myself on my humility and modesty.
I'm currently a backend engineer developing features and improving infra for an online game with millions of daily active users. I'd love to explore other technical positions in the games industry short of joining a AAA studio because (a) I don't want to crunch and (b) my skill set does not lay that way; other tech-creative industries would also appeal to me! Another particular interest is in B2C businesses where the 'C' is software developers. I'd love to chat and network about opportunities; if you think you have a product that could benefit from my skill set, drop me a line!

Hi folks, I'm Matt. About 7 years of experience working at the interface between data science and backend development. My most recent work has been around optimization of grid-scale energy storage systems - I was the technical lead for the team's first go-live in the ERCOT power market. A lot of experience taking something functional but bespoke (think e.g. a Jupyter notebook from a DS researcher) and applying rigorous software engineering principles to make it modular/scalable/maintainable, and dealing with the problems that result from applying machine learning in the real world (e.g. robustness to forecast error).
Primarily experienced in Python but I've learned a lot of languages at this point and don't mind learning new tools that fit that job.
Not afraid to get my hands dirty deep in the guts of algorithms/statistics/mathematics, my background is in electrical engineering with some signal processing experience. I've got years of math skills crying out to be used!
I'm looking for a role that lets me sink my teeth into challenging problems - some kind of math/statistical analysis/optimization/algorithmic bent would be ideal, I get a great kick out of testing out cutting edge new libraries, implementing an algorithm from a new research paper, that kind of thing.
Would love to connect, even if just for networking.

I'm an experienced software engineer, looking for a hands-on senior software engineer / tech lead position, backend-leaning, with significant frontend skills. I worked at companies of all kinds, from seed-stage startups to literal FAANG.
I always end up working in close interaction with product people, stakeholders, and (if lucky enough) prospective users. I'm used to working cross-functionally and cross-team, improving communication, coordinating work of several teams to build and operate the thing which the business needs. I prefer building the right thing without haste, but know how to prioritize shipping the most impactful changes sooner.
I value autonomy and high impact. I built things from a nebulous idea to a final implementation and production launch. I evolved large existing systems, including frontend, backend, and databases.
I'm glad to communicate with people, to mentor fellow engineers when appropriate, to coordinate work, but I'm not trying to become a full-time people manager. My north star is people like John Carmack or Rob Pike.

All I want for christmas is some gnarly problems to chew on, otherwise it's coal for Christmas.
I'm a data scientist with 20+ years experience who enjoys gnarly, avant-garde problems. I saved a well known German automaker from lemon law recalls. I've worked with a major cloud vendor to predict when servers would fail, allowing them to load shed in time.
Some of the things I've done:
- Live chip counting for estmating betting in casinos.
- Automotive part failure prediction (Lemon law recalls)
- Server fleet failure prediction allowing load shedding.
- Shipping piracy risk prediction - routing ships away from danger.
- Oil reservoir & well engineering forecasting production.
- Realtime routing (CVRP-PD-TW, shifts) for on demand delivery.
- Legal entity and contract term extraction from documents.
- Wound identification & tissue classification.
- The usual LLM and agent stuff. (I'd love to work on effective executive functioning)
- Your nasty problem here.
I use the normal stacks you'd expect. Python, Pytorch, Spark/ray, Jupyter/Merimo, AWS, Postgres, Mathematica and whatever else is needed to get the job done. Ultimately it's about the problem, not the tools.I have years of experience helping companies plan, prototype, and productionize sane data science solutions. Get in touch if you have a problem, my email is in my profile.

Hi! I'm a computational scientist pivoting fully out of the wet lab into data engineering. My background is in systems neuroscience, building MATLAB codebases to analyze and quantify preclinical biomarkers in animal models.
Recent work:
• Cloud-native analytics pipeline for human EEG data - uses Python for ingesting, Snowflake to store cleaned raw data, dbt to model sleep architecture, average band power, and overall orchestration.
• Pipeline for time-series data visualizations, done in Python, Docker, and Nextflow.
Starting Georgia Tech's OMSCS program in January to deepen CS fundamentals.
I'm looking for a full-time position within computational science or data engineering. I'm particularly interested/strong in high-frequency time-series data analysis (e-phys, biosignals, energy grids, etc.). I'm a quick learner and am really eager to pick up additional stacks and technologies.

I'm a CTO, expert engineer, and data professional interested in team-building, consulting and architecting data pipelines. At Edmunds.com, I worked on a fairly successful ad-tech product and my team bootstrapped a data pipeline using Spark, Databricks, and microservices built with Java, Python, and Scala.
At ATTN:, I re-built an ETL Kubernetes stack, including data loaders and extractors that handle >10,000 API payload extractions daily. I created SOPs for managing data interoperability with Facebook Marketing, Facebook Graph, Instagram Graph, Google DFP, Salesforce, etc.
More recently, I was the CTO and co-founder of a gaming startup. We raised over $6M and I was in charge of building out a team of over a dozen remote engineers and designers, with a breadth of experience ranging from Citibank, to Goldman Sachs, to Microsoft. I moved on, but retain significant equity and a board seat.
I am also a minority owner of a coffee shop in northern Spain. That I'm a top-tier developer goes without saying. Further, I'm also interested in flexing my consulting muscle and can help with best practices, architecture, and hiring.
Would love to connect even if it's just for networking!

I am a full stack developer with 6 years of experience working on SaaS products. My preference skews toward back-end development. I have experience across the whole stack and software development lifecycle, including infrastructure management, supporting production, database evolution, and CI/CD pipelines.
At my current company I lead the effort in adopting DevOps principles such as trunk based development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, feature flagging, incremental rollout strategies, and tracking of DORA metrics. For me, it is not enough to develop features or bug fixes in isolation. Understanding the whole process of how the code that I write gets in front of end users and makes an impact for them is of the utmost importance.
I am looking for my next full-time opportunity. In person opportunities would be my preference, but I am also open to remote work. I would be particularly ecstatic about any opportunity that would allow me to further refine my Rust skills. Thank you!
