The sad fact is that having worked in big companies, it really does seem essential to "facilitate stakeholder alignment across cross-functional workstreams" at all sorts of different levels. Maybe these are bullshit jobs, and certainly prevention is better than cure, but large enterprises create bullshit that needs managing.
