Their major investment into 'ai' has not lead to them being meaningfully better at self driving, and the robots are a long way from being a mass market item.
Tesla used to have the most innovate features, now they are often behind on basic feature. Going on all in on self driving, drove away much investment from other features.
And beyond all of that their vision for transport is just fundamentally wrong. Sustainable transport already exists, and it works far better then cars. Its trains, trams, buses and bikes. That's more energy efficient and better for society in every measurable way.
So not only can't they execute their plan, they also have the wrong plan in the first place.
Their valuation on the other hand says more about the lack of competition (for your investment money) in the US than anything else.
