It's Impossible to Delete My Github Account
Key topics
1. If you go to account settings you are greeted with a disabled "delete my account button" and suggestion to create a ticket
2. If I go to https://support.github.com/request , they automatically redirect me to "Account Reinstatement Request". I guess they made it for usability but now I have to fill out a form about reinstating my account.
2.1. To add insult to injury, this form has a line "If you are requesting support for your account not related to moderation limits made on your account by GitHub please raise a support ticket instead". So the person designing this form was not aware of the forced redirect
3. I cannot create any ticket. It says "your ticket is created" but there's nothing in the list of tickets afterwards
4. You can also write an email to dpo@github.com and request your account deletion. But you will be greeted by an automated reply telling you to use the ticketing system.
The author is frustrated with GitHub's automated system, which prevents them from deleting their account, and the community sympathizes with their struggle.
