Oddest Chatgpt Leaks Yet: Cringey Chat Logs Found in Google Analytics Tool

That’s my biggest takeaway. I have almost completely de-googled my personal and business life, but do use ChatGPT for work occasionally, mostly boilerplate python but occasionally refining emails. I don’t know why it did not occur to me that the tool could just send my entire prompt, and a whole bunch of other identifiers and tags to an external source, but of course there’s nothing to prevent that, except possibly efficiency… but since Google and other external search engines are all doing AI summaries I wonder if this wasn’t a bit more intentional. ChatGPT makes the call out and offloads some “work” to someone else’s AI summary. Yuck.

It absolutely does, do you even use Google Search Console? For just one of my websites, I have 223 pages of queries I can look through from the past 28 days to see what users typed in that were provided impressions of my site or clicked on it.

Yeah I think they have them set to not be indexed by search engines now though

the moment that prompt is typed to a third party, then we must assume that it's stored and will be eventually used for statistics or any other reason, it's a bit insane how we went completely backward in security since GPT 3.5, we have people defending privacy policies of tech giants but they are known to constantly breach them :/
