Is it just me, or does it seem that the situation regarding software development outside Big Tech and VC-funded startups is sad, and this includes open source projects that are not commercially-backed? I remember hearing about The Omni Group, a long time independent Mac software company, struggling during the pandemic. I’m hearing less and less about independent software these days.
