I Built a Free Tool to Take Down Pirated Versions of My App – Ama
Key topics
Who’s actually hosting the site?
Where do I send the DMCA request?
How do I make sure it actually gets seen?
It got so bad that I built my own tool to solve the problem. You just paste the link to the pirated content (apps, software, media, whatever) and it instantly finds the ISP that’s hosting it. Then it gives you either the DMCA report form or the abuse email address for that host.
No more digging through WHOIS or sending emails into the void. It’s free, and I originally built it just for myself, but I figured other creators/developers might find it useful too: https://www.easy-report.com/app
I’d love feedback — especially from other indie devs, creators, or anyone who’s had to deal with piracy. What features would make this more helpful for you?
