So far they have backtested on historical data. Now they will have to test it going forward in an identical setup to verify historical results were not "curve fitted". Also market scenarios change. The period used for backtesting (9/23 to 10/24) wasn't particularly challenging. But they put all that into their caveat. Not sure that answers your question.

I am very skeptical about this press release, but would love to know how a "quantum approach" could conceptually outperform in this domain.
