How Do You Smart People Accept the Money Printer?
Key topics
You and I work for it but them and their friends with $$$$ make extra because they own assets and this all helps them. How is this reality in the world in 2025??
The unsettling reality of a world where governments and investment banks can conjure up trillions of dollars with ease has sparked a heated debate. Some commenters, like wmf, seem unfazed, suggesting that owning assets is the key to thriving in this system, while others, like pavel_lishin, are grappling with the cognitive dissonance it creates. A thread of pragmatism runs through the discussion, with toomuchtodo advising that understanding and operating within the existing rules is the most practical approach. As HankStallone pointed out, this isn't a new phenomenon, but the scale has shifted from billions to trillions, leaving many to wonder how to navigate this brave new world.

Basically, we're all used to it. Most of us probably had a moment when we realized how screwed the system was and expected it to crash soon. Mine was in the 90s when personal bankruptcies were climbing fast. But they've managed to kick the can down the road so many times that complaining about it seems quaint now.
