Headspace Bug Resulted in Subscription Renewal – Refund Refused

A couple of months ago I decided to cancel my Headspace subscription. I did this in the app. They have a cancel subscription option, so you would think it would work, right? But... apparently not. I cancelled, then a couple of weeks later my annual subscription of 50 bucks was renewed. I appealed, they said that since I bought the sub through Google Play they cannot refund me. Google also refused my refund request.

So Headspace might poetically be described as... a very mindful bunch of crooks? 50 euros down the drain for nothing, no chance of refund, because their app's cancellation functionality is broken. I am very annoyed about this.
