it does I dunno explain or is correlated with why the political compass doesn't use the term liberal or conservative (it uses libertarian but obviously not the same thing.). It's kind of interesting that I think that maybe 10 years ago I would have said left / liberal / democrat and right / conservative / Republican were synonyms, and now I would say those are very different words with very different meanings.
Which gets to a weird point because you can’t create new institutions with nihilism (Christopher Rufo has said has much)
