We are not at early stages of anything.
For a LONG TIME cars have sucked at producing the kind of interfaces (and even services) that CarPlay and Android Auto have provided. I have zero patience for the idea that "well we're just getting into it" when the competing technology has been good for a long time and car manufacture provided interfaces have been GARBAGE that entire time and we as consumers have SEEN it.
Car makers aren't short on money or resources or new to computers ... they're just bad at this, no excuses.
Rental car without car play would be dead to me.
