Forr 2 years I've thinking about making a blog based on an SSG and whenever I try it I just hate the tools, hate the themes, hate everyting. I'm not happy with the tools that are out there and right now starting to develop some tools that are oriented towards pure HTML publishing. I reject a lot of these assumptions like you're going to commit something to Github and then have some opaque environment like Github actions which you'll spend a whole lifetime debugging.
