Before I read the article, I felt certain that the article really was about misplacing mortgages. At scale, almost everything happens a little bit of the time. IP packets get lost. An english bank goes rogue and issues "magic" debit cards that deduct withdrawals from random accounts. TPM modules lock up. BMCs quit responding.
