I find it interesting that they're treating the symptoms and not the cause. Profit on both sides - Spam calls pay to use our network, and people who don't want spam calls can pay for this AI Digital Receptionist to screen these spam calls (I'm speculating as to whether this is a paid service or not, the article doesn't specify).
Fix the security of your network. Seeing comments on another thread about a scammer posing as Google makes it appear that the phone network is used more by scammers than legitimate users. The problem is that security costs money and deflates "daily average users" numbers.
The aeroplane that is "phone networks" already has both engines on fire. The only question is how long it takes before it inevitably collides with the ground.
