Hi HN — I made a single-file Blogger theme (applenotes.xhtml) that turns a Blogger blog into an Apple Notes–like three-column layout: folders/labels, notes list, and a reader/editor column. I’m posting this because I like the aesthetic and thought others might enjoy a minimal, old‑school blogging UI.
What it is - One XHTML/Blogger theme file (applenotes.xhtml) with an inline <b:skin> CSS block. - Uses Blogger template tags and widgets (Label, BlogArchive, Blog widget) so it uploads directly to blogger.com. - GPL‑3.0 licensed.
Why - Blogger was my first web platform and I wanted a simple, usable theme that feels like Apple Notes for people who just want to write and organize privately/publicly. - It’s intentionally minimal and opinionated — not a modern CMS clone, just a pleasant writing/listing interface.
Features - Responsive three-column layout that collapses for mobile. - Styled folder/label list, notes list with hover/active states, and a reading/editor area. - Toolbar, search input, empty states. - Easy to tweak colors, fonts, and column widths in the <b:skin> block.
How to use 1. Backup your current Blogger theme. 2. Theme → Restore → Upload, then paste or upload applenotes.xhtml. 3. Adjust colors/widths by editing the CSS inside the <b:skin> block (ensure UTF‑8).
Notes - This is a personal design project; I’m not soliciting feature requests, contributors are welcomed. If you want to fork or adapt it, it’s GPL‑3.0 — please include the license.
