Literally Gabe Newell, who sails on yachts and has been swimming in money for a long time just from CS and Dota cases alone. And Steam is currently the most popular platform for buying games, simply because there are no alternatives. Xbox's GamePass is trying to do something, but everything there comes down to buying some cheap shared subscription on <https://ggsel.net/en> or <https://kinguin.com>. Many game developers love Steam because of its policies.
