They build fairly low-quality bikes, have a bad reputation for service and support, and Aventon is consuming their market niche. The e-bike market did not need a disruptive figure like Mike Radenbaugh, certainly not in 2014 when the industry was already well established. Trying to buck the industry was central to Rad's problems, exemplified by the weird custom tires that nobody makes.
