It's ironic that the Palestinian civil registry is maintained by Israel and issues different colors of identification cards and vehicle number plates to discriminate against Palestinians as varying tiers of subhumans. No one really knows how many people are dead because often there isn't anyone left in previously large families to update the registry during the years of systematic and wanton bombing of civilian "safe" areas.
